Aberdeen Admission - International Students

Aberdeen College is proud and pleased to accept international students. The College is authorized by the Student & Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) to enroll non-immigrant alien students through the issuance of Form I-20.

Such applicant must meet the admissions policy on foreign students. The policies for the evaluation of admission prerequisites and transfer credits are similar to those currently used to evaluate applicants with degrees/transcripts from foreign universities.

The only exception is that international students may receive temporary consideration for admission based on the faxed transcripts from the institution (s). However, actual acceptance of the student as regular student does not take place until the official transcripts are received and validated to match the facsimile copies within one quarter.

Overseas applicants must also demonstrate financial ability to pay tuition and living expenses while in the United States, with documents properly attested to and certified. An Affidavit of Support form must be filled by the student and submitted.

Foreign students must have their foreign education and training evaluated by a Member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES, who is also affiliated with the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO).

* The International Education Research Foundation (IERF), Post Office Box 3665, Culver City, CA 90231-3665, is recommended for this purpose. They can also be reached at 310.258.9451. It is the responsibility of the prospective student to have all foreign transcripts evaluated and have them sent directly to ABERDEEN COLLEGE from this organization.
